National Competition 2026

The Competition

Details about the Brain Bee competition rules, format, dates, and study resources.

Format

The initial stages will be conducted through a proctored online platform, and the test will be in the form of multiple-choice questions. The national round, however, will be held offline* and will include three core components.

* For the launch year of 2026, both competitions will take place online to make it easier for competitors to participate.

component 1

Written Exam

A test covering theoretical aspects and fundamental concepts of neuroscience.

component 2

Neuroanatomy & Histology

Identifying brain structures and cell types using models and images.

component 3

Patient Diagnosis

Analysis of symptoms and clinical results to identify the correct neurodisorder.

Registration

Registration for the first edition is now closed. Stay tuned for the announcement of the 2nd edition of Brain Bee Syria!

Bootcamp

Top qualifiers from the first stage advance to a 10-day online bootcamp — intensive preparation covering the full syllabus and the format of each round, ahead of the national competition before October 2026.

Language

Participants in the early stages may choose to compete in either English or Arabic. For the final stage (National Competition), competitors will be required to compete in English.

The national qualifier will earn the opportunity to participate in the International Brain Bee (IBB) and represent Syria for the first time on the international stage!
